Ratcatcher
Informal dress, referred to as ratcatcher, is worn during cub-hunting season, which generally takes place in early autumn, and on week days during the regular hunting season. Red is worn by staff only.

Ladies
Ladies wear a tweed coat or hacking jacket; natural-colored (buff, tan, or rust) breeches; light-colored shirt and plain or colored hunting stock tie or ratcatcher shirt with collar and stock pin; canary or tattersall vest; buff, brown or black leather or white wool or string gloves; brown field or black dress boots; and brown, navy or black hunt cap or safety helmet.
Gentlemen
Gentlemen wear a tweed coat or hacking jacket; natural-colored (buff, tan, or rust) breeches; light-colored shirt and colored tie; canary or tattersall vest; buff, brown or black leather or white wool or string gloves; brown field or black dress boots; and brown or black hunt cap or safety helmet.
Formal
Ladies
Ladies wear a black frock coat or Melton coat with plain black buttons. A lady will wear a canary or tattersall waistcoat; a white shirt with a white stock tie and a horizontal gold pin; buff or tan britches of twill, cord, or leather; wash, brown or black leather gloves or string gloves, and regular hunting spurs high on the heel. Dress boots will be black without tops. Also worn is a black velvet hunting cap or safety helmet.
Ladies with colors wear green collars with hunt livery buttons on either black or blue coats; waistcoats may be green; black dress boots may have patent-leather boot tops; velvet hunting cap or safety helmet will be black or blue.
Gentlemen

Gentleman wear a black frock coat or Melton coat with plain black buttons. A gentleman will also wear a canary or tattersall waistcoat; a white shirt with white stock tie and horizontal gold pin; wash, brown or black leather gloves or string gloves, and hunting spurs high on the heel. With a Melton coat, gentleman wear buff or tan britches of twill, cord, or leather, dress boots will be of black calf without boot tops. With a black frock coat, a gentleman will wear white breeches and boots with brown tops. This is appropriate whether or not the gentleman has colors. Also worn is a black velvet hunting cap or safety helmet.
Gentlemen with colors wear a scarlet (red) coat with a green collar, and brass buttons with the KHC insignia. Only white breeches are to be worn with a scarlet coat. Black boots with brown tops are appropriate; black velvet hunting cap or safety helmet.
Juniors
Junior attire is identical to Ladies attire with the exception they can also wear Jodhpurs and Jodhpur boots and will wear an ASTM safety helmet with a harness. Juniors are those under 16 for whom tweed is correct at all times even on formal days, although they can wear formal if they choose to do so.
