The Keswick Hunt Club promotes the sport of fox hunting with organized hunts from September to March. Invited guests and junior riders are encouraged to join the hunts. The Club also maintains a full calendar of social activities throughout the year for both its members and the public to enjoy, including trail rides during the non-hunting season.
Community Involvement
& Public Education.
We have a long history of supporting various community events and charitable foundations. In previous years, proceeds from KHC sponsored events have gone to support the Habitat for Humanity, SPCA, Charlottesville Free Clinic, and Grace Church. Additionally, we endeavor to educate the public on the sport of fox hunting through local county fairs, steeplechase exhibitions, and farm tours.

Pay for Clay Shoot

This event is for competitive shooters who want to hone their skills at the sport and just have a lot of fun. The event will be located at Paul and Diane Manning’s beautiful shooting grounds at East End 1010 Nolting Road, Louisa, VA.

The emphasis will be on safety first, fun second. The entire shoot will be supervised by experienced competitive shooters. These Range Safety Officers will oversee all the shooting and enforce the highest standards of safety as well as give basic help and instruction for anyone who desires it.

The fee for each shoot is $100 per person, and all participants are required to register in advance since slots are limited. The cost includes lunch for the participant and a guest, as well as the cost of the clay pigeons. Ammunition will NOT be available for sale at the shooting grounds.

The Competitive Sportsmen’s Shoots will start at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. It will include shots at more challenging sporting clay targets. It is an 80-round competition. These shoots can accommodate up to 140 participants (40 participants at 9 a.m.; 50 participants for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.).

Shooters will be scored, and a trophy will be presented to the winner for Women's\, Men's\, and Junior’s. We will also have an inter-hunt competition if at least three members of other hunts sign up. We will tally scores of the top three shooters in each hunt and present the winning hunt with a trophy.

Lunch will be available.

Participants may register in advance by contacting Kat Wisner at keswickhuntclub1896@outlook.com or call or text to (954) 495-1757.

Members from Keswick, Deep Run, Glenmore, Old Dominion, and Farmington Hunt Clubs went to Richmond, on Feb. 11, to meet with state senators and delegates about the importance of mounted hunting with hounds in Virginia. We met with Senators Peake, Hanger, Stuart and Deeds, delegates John McGuire, Nick Freitas, Chris Runion, Rob Bell, Buddy Fowler, Michael Webert and Lee Ware. We talked to them about the sport and how we can keep it alive in the state of Virginia for generations to come.
